This year’s Trail Boss Challenge runs April 1, 2025 – November 30, 2025.

You may count miles from April 1, 2025 (or the date you joined the challenge - whichever is later) through November 30, 2025.

• You must be a member of the Iowa Horse Council to participate. 

• Only trail/road miles count, not arena time, competitions, or ranch/feedlot riding, etc. – Record your miles on the sheet below. Feel free to print additional sheets if needed. 

• Please record actual miles ridden to at least one decimal place. Ex. – 10.1, not 10. 

• Mileage report must be received by December 11th to be considered for prizes. 

• There are three divisions – Youth Riding, for age 18 and under as of January 1, 2025, and Adult Riding, for age 19 and over as of January 1, 2025. In 2025 the Driving division was added and is open to all ages. If you wish to count both riding and driving miles, you must enter each division separately. 

• Awards and Certificates of Participation for both divisions will be given at the Iowa Horse Fair in March 2026.
